Building Canada Fund
The Building Canada Fund, Communities Component Agreement, is a joint federal, provincial program that provides $136-million in funding from each partner to assist local governments in communities with populations of 100,000 or less to build or renew infrastructure.
The 2009 intake is now open. There are two deadlines of submitting project applications online: March 16, 2009 and April 24, 2009. Applications received by March 16, 2009 will be considered during the first round of 2009 approvals while applications received by April 24, 2009 will be considered in a subsequent round of approvals.
The 2009 intake will include the following project categories, denoted by the Ministry responsible:

- Culture
- Sport
- Connectivity and Broadband
- Regional & Local Airports
- Disaster Mitigation
