Northern Development Grant Writing Support Program
Program Overview
The Grant Writing Support program provides all municipalities, regional districts, and First Nations band councils within the Northern Development Initiative Trust region with a $7,500 grant from the Cross Regional Account to hire a writer/researcher to prepare grant applications to any and all funding agencies or government programs.
Program Features and Benefits
- Up to 75% of the wages for a four month grant writer/researcher based in the local community.
- Additional capacity to respond to non-profit group requests for grant application research and grant writing.
- Timely response to applications for funding and simple annual reporting.
- Increased success accessing financial grants for community and non-profit groups.
- Increased economic development capacity in small and rural communities, and for First Nations.
Program Objectives
- To incent small communities and First Nations band councils to hire a local resident grant writer on staff
and to increase the grant monies flowing into the central and northern B.C. economy.
- To train 1,000 individuals across the region in Grant Writing Seminars by 2020.
