Community-based Literacy & Essential Skills
Office of Literacy and Essential Skills
The Office of Literacy and Essential Skills invites proposals for funding for community-based projects addressing the literacy and essential skills of adults that clearly lead to one or more of the following:
- Employability: obtain jobs and/or to improve employment prospects; and/or
- Community Participation: better able to participate in their communities; and/or
- Family: better able to contribute to family.
The following are eligible to submit proposals:
- Non-profit organizations;
- Voluntary-sector organizations;
- Workplace organizations, including chambers of commerce, unions, and business associations;
- Universities, colleges, and other educational and training bodies; and
- Municipalities
