Culture & the Arts

Local Governments and First Nations depend upon the skills and techniques of art, as well as the behaviours and beliefs characteristics of particular social, ethnic or age groups, to uphold and build green, liveable and vibrant communities and regions. To support cultural and fine arts initiatives, the RuralBC Secretariat has divided the following programs and information into topical subpages:

• The Arts refers to information regarding the fine arts;
• Culture refers to information for the preservation and celebration of the behaviours and beliefs of communities and regions; and
• Aboriginal Peoples refers to information specific to British Columbians who trace their ancestry to the aboriginal peoples that inhabited the land prior to the arrival of Europeans.
