Devising methods of acting, doing, and proceeding in advance is critical for local governments and First Nations in British Columbia to build green, livable and vibrant communities and regions.
The RuralBC Secretariat offers access to provincial and federal planning resources to assist First Nations and local governments manage growth, as well as create strategies for effective land use and social development. Planning resources are presented in the following topical subpages:
- Growth Management ensures that, as community and region population grows, services are available to meet local demands;
- Land Use Planning provides strategies for order and regulation of the use of land in an efficient and ethical way; and
